DOUG OAKLEY
Doug, with 7 years of experience, was a top producer for BHI Ltd. where he was Resale Salesperson of the Year and a member of the Captain’s and Admiral’s Clubs for career achievement. Doug and Wendy shared an office at BHI Ltd. and look forward to teaming up again. He is a man of high integrity and someone who sincerely wants what is best for his clients, taking time to show his customers all their options. Doug is dedicated to customer service with a laid back “Island” style.
Doug is our renaissance man with a USCG Captain license and a newly acquired pilot’s license. He can be seen flying over BHI or
taking his clients and friends fishing. Doug and his wife Jane have lived on the Island full-time since 1998.
Their home on West Bald Head Wynd overlooks the Cape Fear River and is often bursting with family, as their four children, spouses
and new grandson come to visit often. Many of you might remember Jane, one of the Island’s leading historians and the former
Executive Director of The Smith Island Museum of History. She lovingly oversaw Old Baldy for 13 years before retiring.
DAVE SHADDAY
You might say that it was the golf that first attracted this Joplin, MO native
to Bald Head Island. After a successful career as an oil services entrepreneur, Dave followed his heart and his favorite sport to Bald Head. Since 1985 when he purchased his first BHI property, he has experienced living both part time and full time on the Island. During his 13 years as a permanent resident Dave was elected to the BHI Association, was President of the Village Chapel, and a member of the Golf and Greens Committee. Dave’s love of and expertise at golf has earned him the title of BHI Club Champion for 8 of the 10 years through 2003, and he has held the Senior Championship title for the past 3 years. Dave is a relaxed, laid back Islander at heart.
He knows the Island inside and out, and he enjoys sharing his experience of it with visitors...and if you’re lucky, he might even show you a thing or two about your game!
DEBBIE WARD
Debbie and her husband, Kirby, came to BHI, and like so many property owners, purchased on the first day. Along with their children, Hannah and Tyler, they knew they had found a special place that would bring the family together for years to come. Later they traded their original golf course homesite for a Hammock, and sold their Hammock in 2003 to participate in the construction of their current home on the 4th hole. Debbie knew they were making sound Real Estate purchases because she has made Real Estate her profession in the Raleigh area since 1985. Working with Prudential Carolinas Realty has given her a tremendous background in general brokerage and new home sales. She received many awards for her achievements over the years. In 2003, Debbie lived full time on the island working as an agent for the Developer while her daughter, Hannah, worked for the River Pilot and BHI Club. These experiences, along with the familiarity of the many possible choices in BHI lifestyles have been an invaluable resource for WWP and its clients. Debbie also serves as client services coordinator for WWP.
WENDY WILMOT
As Bald Head Island property owners since 1984 and permanent residents since 1995, it’s fair to say that Wendy and her husband Andy Sayre are ISLANDERS.
They started by purchasing a homesite on the first visit. Making frequent escapes to the island from their real world jobs, where Wendy sold commercial real estate and Andy did commercial development, gave them the opportunity to experience the island from a renter's perspective.
They were founding Golf Members of the Bald Head Island Club and charter members of the Bald Head Island Yacht Club.
After 2 years of life aboard a 40 foot sloop in the Bahamas, Wendy and Andy came home to Bald Head Island making it their permanent residence.
They bought and lived in resale homes on the beach and the marsh before finally embarking on the design and construction of their current home overlooking the mouth of the Cape Fear River.
Taking this journey has paved the way for Wendy to truly understand the quest of discovering Bald Head Island. It means she can help you do the same and that both Wendy and Andy have the perspective necessary to share with you what it’s like to really live the island lifestyle.
Each year, their love of the island causes both Wendy and Andy to become more involved in many areas of island life including Bald Head Island government, environmental organizations and social activities.
Wendy currently serves on the board of the Bald Head Island Conservancy and is very involved with Project 20/20. She is an active member of the Ladies Golf Association.
Andy has been a member of the Town Council since 1998 and currently serves as Mayor Pro Tem. In addition, Andy serves on the Board of Governors for the Bald Head Island Club.
As an added advantage, both Wendy and Andy spent many years working for the developer of Bald Head island, BHI Ltd – Wendy as a leader in real estate sales and Andy as the Director of Development.
Andy now owns and operates his own building company on the island, Riverwatch Builders, where the focus is on building premier spec homes on the island, one at a time. Because Riverwatch Builders does not build custom homes, Andy has been an important objective source of information, advice and support for Wendy and her clients.
Wendy's diverse background provides the perfect perspective to be the leader she is in Bald Head Island real estate.
- Experienced REALTOR with comprehensive industry knowledge including 8 years as a successful selling professional with BHI Ltd, before starting Wendy Wilmot Properties and commercial real estate experience with York Commercial in Raleigh, NC.
- A full time Camp Director for Camp SeaGull/Seafarer in Arapahoe, NC and with the Raleigh YMCA

- Non-profit Fundraiser for US Olympic Festival in 1987, NC Theatre and Frankie Lehman School

Wendy Wilmot loves this island. It is her home and she is your neighbor. Both Wendy and Andy are invested in the future of Bald Head Island. This kind of personal investment means Wendy Wilmot has the incentive to help you find just the right place on Bald Head Island.
