BHI਍ഀ club sponsors the first candidates forum Monday October 5th

Elections਍ഀ are heating up and we want to keep you posted on Bald Head Island’s first਍ഀ Mayoral Election. Candidates Andy Sayre, Larry Lammert, and John Fisher਍ഀ will participate in two Candidates Forums.  The first forum will be਍ഀ held at the Bald Head Island Club from 4:30PM until 6:30PM on Monday,਍ഀ October 5th.

Written਍ഀ questions from the community are encouraged and may be received any time਍ഀ after September 30. All questions should be emailed to Forum Moderator,਍ഀ Ricki Grantmyre, at rgrantmyre@bellsouth.net,਍ഀ or may be delivered in person at the forum until either 6PM or until਍ഀ candidates begin their closing comments, whichever comes first.

Before਍ഀ submitting questions, please review the Candidates’ written questions and਍ഀ answers posted on the BHA website, bhinews.com.਍ഀ All questions will be screened by a committee of three individuals for਍ഀ duplications, appropriate subject matter, and to ensure that no questions਍ഀ are insulting or personal.

Each਍ഀ Candidate will have three minutes to make an opening statement as well as਍ഀ three minutes for closing comments. Candidates shall address all comments਍ഀ to the audience and not to each other, as this is not a debate format.

Speaker਍ഀ order will be determined via draw. Opening comments and the first਍ഀ question will be asked to the Candidate drawing number one. First਍ഀ Candidate will have two minutes to answer the question. Candidates two਍ഀ and three respectively will then have 45 seconds to comment on the਍ഀ question. The forum will proceed in this manner until 6:15PM or until all਍ഀ questions are answered, whichever comes first.
